In my opinion, the best part of any Hamlet essay is Ophelia's choice of an alternative life. She chooses to lead a more secret life, even before she discovers that Hamlet has been involved in murder. It is here where the essay comes alive and shows the readers how important it is to listen to her intuition when making a life-changing decision.
Many essay topics require students to think about history. But, if the history is lacking, students will be tempted to think about 'what ifs' instead. You can use this opportunity to instruct the students about how they should proceed, based on their history. The other interesting essay topics are Hamlet's transformation from a boy to a man. As I stated in my previous essay, my favorite Hamlet essay topics revolve around learning the truth behind Hamlet's actions. These topics can be used to put forward a case against the idea that Hamlet is guilty or to help the reader remember why he was killed. Many of my students love to read essays that reveal the meaning behind a character's actions. The essay topic usually takes the form of an analysis of what Hamlet was thinking at the time of his death. This allows students to get the opportunity to choose which character they think is the most responsible for Hamlet's death. Some of my students also like to read about essay topics that have relevance to the current situation in their lives. One of my students has been depressed and withdrawn since the death of his father a few months ago. He recently attempted suicide and has been hospitalized. Because of this, I have suggested that he focus on his strengths as an academic and make him try to maintain a positive attitude toward life. My students also seem to enjoy writing about their time spent in public schools, which sometimes isn't presented in the course curriculum. I've had students submit essays about what they want to do after graduation, how they hope to use their knowledge of history to solve current issues and even if they would consider themselves criminals. Some of my students have also discussed their lives after graduation and each of them have written about their experiences with different essay topics. I've found that students who have a strong sense of mission and are willing to spend time for it tend to have a much better chance of succeeding in life. So, if you're interested in using your time writing an essay to teach others, check out these interesting essay topics.
